I have been a germaphobe for as long as I can remember.

Not the kind you laugh off. The kind that has a clinical name — emetophobia, an intense fear of vomiting — and quietly reshapes the way you move through the world. Every airplane bathroom. Every shared surface at school. Every restaurant table. Every doorknob. Not paranoia — just a heightened awareness of what most people never think twice about.

For most of my life, I managed it the only way I knew how — cleaning products, sanitizers, and a cabinet full of things that promised to protect me.

The problem was that none of them felt right.

Conventional disinfectants relied on aggressive chemical formulations that left my skin dry and irritated and filled the air with fumes I didn't want to breathe. Natural alternatives felt better — but most couldn't legally claim to kill germs at all. I was caught between toxic and ineffective, and I couldn't find a single product that was genuinely both powerful and gentle.

So I went looking.

Deep in research, I kept finding the same compound: Hypochlorous Acid. HOCl.
