FAQs

1. How to use?

On hard, non-porous surfaces, simply spray FURIE until thoroughly wet. Let sit for 10 minutes, then wipe with a clean cloth or allow to air dry.

Many traditional cleaners require multiple steps—pre-cleaning, rinsing, and strong chemicals. Some HOCl-based products even require a pre-clean to be effective.

FURIE is designed for simplicity. With no harsh residues and no need to rinse, it offers an easy one-step approach to everyday surface cleaning.

2. Is there a fragrance?

FURIE Solutions contains no added fragrances. Its light, clean scent is naturally produced during the electrolysis process, a result of the active ingredient: hypochlorous acid (HOCl).

HOCl is different from sodium hypochlorite (bleach). It’s a gentler form of chlorine—also produced by the body as part of its natural defense system. Known for its use in wound, eye, and veterinary care products, HOCl is valued for being both effective and non-irritating when used as directed.

3. Does it leave or film or residue?

No. FURIE is made with 99.935% reverse osmosis water. Independent lab testing has shown that its non-volatile residue is minimal—meaning it doesn’t leave behind the sticky or harmful residues often associated with conventional cleaners.

Simply spray on any hard, non-porous surface and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. No rinsing required.

4. Is F.U.R.I.E. safe around kids and pets?

Yes. When used as directed, FURIE is a gentle, non-toxic formula that’s suitable for use around people and pets. Unlike many conventional cleaners that contain harsh chemicals, our product is made without added synthetic fragrances or irritants—offering a more mindful approach to everyday cleaning.

5. How HOCl stands apart from other disinfectants?

Effectiveness

  • HOCl: Naturally powerful against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and even spores—up to 120 times stronger than bleach—yet still gentle on both skin and surfaces.
  • Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite): Strong disinfectant but harsh—corrosive, produces harmful fumes, and leaves chemical residues.
  • Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (Quats): Effective but linked to skin and breathing irritation, with growing concerns about antimicrobial resistance.
  • Alcohol-Based Cleaners: Kill many germs fast, but they evaporate quickly, aren’t reliable against all viruses or spores, and often dry out skin.

Safety

  • HOCl: Non-toxic, non-irritating, and safe to use around food, making it a smart choice for places like hospitals, schools, and kitchens.
  • Bleach & Quats: Can irritate skin, release harmful fumes, and require rinsing on surfaces that touch food.
  • Alcohol-Based Products: Flammable and may cause irritation with frequent use.

Environmental Impact

  • HOCl: Breaks down naturally into water and salt, leaving behind no dangerous byproducts.
  • Bleach & Quats: Can pollute waterways and release toxic residues into the environment.
  • Alcohol-Based Products: Generally less damaging but need careful storage and handling because of flammability.

Ease of Use

  • HOCl: Comes ready-to-use—no mixing, no rinsing, and safe for direct contact with skin or surfaces.
  • Bleach & Quats: Often need to be diluted, used in ventilated areas, and rinsed off afterward.
  • Alcohol-Based Products: Quick to act but evaporate fast, meaning more frequent applications are needed.

6. Is Hygiene Heroes EPA-Registered?

Yes. FURIE Solutions’ flagship disinfectant is EPA-registered under Registration Number 97801-1-105424.

This means the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has thoroughly reviewed and approved it to ensure it works as claimed and is safe when used according to label directions.

EPA registration is required for disinfectants, antimicrobial solutions, and similar products to confirm they meet strict federal standards for both efficacy and safety.

In short, an EPA-registered disinfectant has undergone extensive testing to prove it can effectively kill or neutralize specific pathogens.
